What is Knack?
Knack partners with Florida College to provide tutoring. High-achieving FC students are hired and trained as tutors, then paid hourly by Knack. Students can sign up for tutoring through Knack’s platform, managed in collaboration with FC staff.

What courses are supported?
We aim to cover all courses. If no peer tutor is available, free 24/7 professional tutors can help in most subjects.

How do I sign up?
Go to fc.joinknack.com and log in with your FC credentials.

How are students matched with tutors?
Submit a request on the Knack website or app. Qualified tutors respond, and you set a time and place to meet—online or in person.

How are tutors selected?
FC sets qualification standards (grades, training). Knack recruits and vets applicants.

What quality checks are in place?
Tutors and students follow FC’s code of conduct and Knack’s zero-tolerance academic misconduct policy. Feedback and reporting tools allow issues to be flagged and reviewed.

What safety protections exist?
Sessions happen online or in public campus spaces. Personal contact info is not required. Safety guidelines are reviewed before scheduling.

How much tutoring can I request?
Up to 3 hours per class, per week.

What if I don’t have a peer tutor yet?
Use Knack’s on-demand tutors for immediate help—available 24/7.

Knack Tutor FAQs

Can current FC tutors also tutor with Knack?
Yes, if they meet Knack’s criteria. International students must confirm work eligibility.

Is training provided?
Yes—Knack offers required initial training, plus optional additional training with FC’s support.

How are tutors paid?
$15/hour. Tutoring is free for students.

How many hours can tutors work?
Up to 15 hours per week.

Can international students tutor?
Yes, but they must confirm eligibility, understand tax obligations as 1099 contractors, and obtain a U.S. Social Security Number or TIN before starting. Knack does not provide employment letters.
